We offer a unique experience for our clients guiding them through the rich environment of the Taltson Delta and fishing tours on Great Slave Lake. Enjoy shore lunches featuring fresh pan-fried or poached fish cooked over an open fire, immersing yourself in this beautiful land made of Precambrian rock known as Akaitcho Territory.


Great Slave Lake covers approximately 28,568 square kilometers, making it the second-largest lake in the Northwest Territories and the deepest lake in North America. This massive freshwater body is home to 24 known species of fish, the most prominent of which include lake whitefish, lake trout, inconnu, northern pike, and walleye. Other species found in the lake include cisco, burbot, nine-spine stickleback, shiner, and longnose sucker.
The Akaitcho Territory Government represents the collective environmental, social, political, cultural, and economic interests of the Member First Nations – Deninu Ku'e First Nation, Lutsel K'e Dene First Nation, Smith's Landing First Nation and Yellowknives Dene First Nation – Dettah/ Ndilo.

April through May, Taltson Bay becomes a vital staging and migration for numerous waterfowl species, including geese, ducks, swans, with tens of thousands arriving daily in the surrounding area of the delta. This vibrant congregation of birds lasts only a few days, when the weather and wind conditions are suitable, they continue their journey further north to their nesting grounds.

Taltson Bay is an extraordinary location unlike any other on Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories. Nestled on the Canadian Precambrian Shield and encircled by the Boreal Forest, or Taiga, it features the world's largest terrestrial biome, filled coniferous forests dominated by spruce, fir, and pine.
